The Child Friendly Space (CFS) programme helps to raise employee’s sense of pride and level of trust in the factory. Employees can focus on work better. The programme also enhances the factory’s reputation in the industry and among job seekers. The local government and industry association have reached out to us, hoping to promote CFS in the local community and in the industry. In turn, this increases the social impacts of the factory and the whole industry. Next year, we plan to continue opening CFS and include more children.

I think this programme is very worthwhile, as employees can focus on the work during the summer. The arrival of the children brought a warm and pleasant atmosphere to the factory. I believe that the workers who did not participate in in the Child Friendly Space (CFS) programme also had some fresh feelings. We recently conducted an employee satisfaction survey and saw an increase over the previous year. I believe that CFS has a positive impact on these results. We plan to highlight the CFS programme in our recruitment ads to encourage more migrant workers to return home to work. And of course, we will continue opening CFS and may expand the scale next year.

We are delighted to partner with The Centre to implement our Family Friendly Spaces (FFS) Programme. This programme is successful because the impacts are measurable and sustainable. Working together, we look forward to achieving even more for parent workers and children in the future.

USAL highly appreciated the client’s support and The Centre’s efforts in giving us a chance to join both the HR manager’s workshop on child labour prevention and remediation and the working parent training sessions for our workers. Both training activities were useful for me as an HR manager for policy improvement for day-to-day work as well as understanding our workers and helping them have work-life balance through improved relations and communication with their children. We will consider replicating these training activities for our workers in the future.

Through this project, I think not only young workers got the opportunity to improve, but the company and our staffs who are involved in implementing or monitoring the project also learn and grow along the way.

Through the young worker training series, quite a few young workers who were really shy could interact with each other very well. We established a WeChat group for the participating young workers at the start of the programme for the mere purpose of convenient communication during the programme implementation, but it turned out to be very good platform for them to socialise. In this group, they arrange meet-ups after work, or pour out their emotions when feeling anxious or stressed.

Some young workers told me that they never thought about their career development path in our factory before, but now they have a clearer direction for their future after attending the young worker training. They also took the initiative to participate in various training and activities that we organised. I fully agree and support the idea of listening to young workers through face-to-face communication. They have expectations and we also expect a lot from them. In the future, we will continue to create opportunities to help young workers improve and develop

I am happy that that I joined this factory. I am allowed to work with computers for data inputting and the company also organised computer skill training for me and other young workers who are interested.
