The Centre is an established leader in supporting companies in effectively preventing and remediating child labour cases within supply chains, spanning factories, farms and raw material sourcing sites. We offer a comprehensive set of services to help businesses identify, prevent, eliminate and remediate child labour in all its forms. We act fast when a suspected case is reported to us and aim to provide the best possible solution to the child, while also supporting the business in preventing future occurrences of child labour. We work across all sectors and supply chain tiers to mitigate child labour risks on a global supply scale.
The Centre has also launched three Child Labour Action Hubs in collaboration with partners in Bangladesh, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and Malaysia. These hubs focus on long-term impact and breaking child labour cycles indefinitely. This is achieved through a collaborative approach, which entails building strong, local networks, leveraging existing resources and initiatives, and engaging with local governments. Read more about The Hub for Child Labour Prevention and Remediation in the DRC, our Child Rights Action Hub in Bangladesh here and the MY Voice Child Rights Action Hub here.
The Centre has also introduced the Due Diligence Principles for Child Labour Remediation to guide companies on their actions to develop an effective due diligence approach. The principles clarify companies’ responsibilities to create comprehensive child labour policies, establish monitoring capacity in sourcing countries, and prevent or mitigate business practices that increase the risk of child labour.
Other collaborative initiatives to tackle child labour include the Joint Action Pledge, which has been signed by 12 global brands and retailers. Our CRIB Working Group brings together dozens of global companies to discuss and develop action plans for tackling the most salient child rights risks in supply chains, including child labour.

Our child labour prevention training equips buyers and suppliers with the tools and knowledge needed to cascade strong and effective child labour prevention measures down your supply chains, from managing subcontractors and labour agents to in-house age verification and young worker protection. The training can be customised for brand CEOs and representatives, sourcing staff, managers of factories and production sites, HR staff, auditors, production floor managers, community leaders and lower tier actors.
When we are notified of a suspected child labour case, we arrive on site within 72 hours to conduct the rapid assessment, speaking to all concerned parties directly (including the child, guardians and factory management). Tailored to the needs of the child, our child labour remediation programme covers all aspects of remediation from start to finish, incorporating elements including selecting schooling or appropriate vocational training, offering financial support where required, and monitoring the child’s development over time. We also work closely with employers on cases involving young workers in child labour situations (e.g. in hazardous work, or working excessive hours and night shifts) and support them in creating solutions to protect young workers and eliminate child labour situations. This includes but is not limited to identifying non-hazardous positions suitable for young workers, ensuring hazardous positions are off limits to young workers or rendering them non-hazardous where possible.
We undertake a comprehensive assessment of your current management systems, policies and practices covering child labour issues, including those covering child labour prevention and remediation, and develop customised guidelines in line with international standards and national laws, addressing issues from risk prevention, daily operations and monitoring to remediation processes for child labour. To date, our policy and guideline development has served companies and their supply chain actors, industry initiatives and overarching programmes of partners.
We conduct a risk assessment to identify child labour risks in supply chains, which allows our clients to understand where potential cases of child labour could be occurring. Findings are presented with practical recommendations for mitigating these risks. Our assessment is tailored to our client’s needs and can be conducted with a focus on child labour or in combination with other risks such as forced labour.
