Nov 22 | "Towards A Family-Friendly Tea Industry" Sri Lanka Conference

The Centre for Child Rights and Business (The Centre), supported by Save the Children, is organising a one-day conference, “Towards A Family-Friendly Tea Industry” in Colombo, Sri Lanka on November 22, 2022.

The conference will bring together tea sector stakeholders, government departments and development agencies to share best practices, and discuss existing challenges & recommended solutions on key priorities of women and children in tea communities.

There will be six panel discussions focusing on food security and nutrition, protection, gender equality and justice, climate change impact on tea sector, access to quality education and adolescent and youth skill development.

The Centre’s initiative Mother and Child Friendly Seal for Responsible Business launched earlier this year in June 2022 encourages businesses to meaningfully invest and collaborate with multiple stakeholders on addressing key priorities of women and children in the tea sector.

For interested tea sector stakeholders and NGOs working with tea communities based in Sri Lanka, please email info.SL@childrights-business.org.
