Webinar About Child Labour In A Post-Pandemic World to Mark the Launch of El Centro Child Rights & Business Centre

The Centre, in partnership with Save the Children, is participating in a webinar to commemorate the launch of El Centro, the new child rights and business centre in Mexico.

Date: September 7, 2022
Time: 9:00 a.m. Mexico City; 4:00 p.m. CET; 10:00 p.m. HKT

The COVID-19 pandemic has severely impacted the Mexican economy, resulting in a significant increase in the number of children engaging in child labour. According to data from the USDOL-funded National Child Labour Survey (ENTI 2019), 3.1 million children between the ages of 5 and 17 engaged in child labour, but this number is likely much higher now in the post-pandemic era.

To mark the launch of El Centro, a new child rights and business centre in Mexico, we invite you to a discussion on what businesses can do to build resilient supply chains while improving their child rights footprint in the post-pandemic world. Our webinar will spotlight the practical ways companies can meaningfully eliminate child labour risks, with expert insights from El Centro, The Centre and leading business representatives.

The Centre is supporting El Centro to develop and deliver services on child rights and business for companies in Mexico, and will explore opportunities for collaboration with El Centro as this new resource in Mexico becomes established.
