Introducing the Child Rights in Business (CRIB) Podcast

The Centre of Child Rights and Business (The Centre) is excited to announce our CRIB podcast series. Co-hosts for our new podcast series are Shyamali Gnanasena, Senior Technical Advisor Child Rights and Ahila Thillainathan, Country Director, The Centre for Child Rights & Business in Sri Lanka. The CRIB podcast features insightful interviews with business leaders, social entrepreneurs, and innovators who are leading the way towards a better future for women and child rights in business. Our podcast is aimed to appeal to business entities committed to investing in child rights in their supply chains.

We cover a wide range of topics that are critical to the success and well-being of businesses and communities, including family-friendly workspaces, innovative solutions to social and environmental challenges, and the SEAL initiative, which promotes the health and well-being of mothers and children on tea plantations in Sri Lanka. For the first season of our podcast, we will be focusing on the tea sector.

In conjunction with UN International Day of Education, our initial podcast episode explores the theme of access to quality education with distinguished guests speakers Mr. Muralitharan, Director Plantation Schools Development, Ministry of Education and Mr. Anuruddha Gamage, General Manager HR & Corporate Sustainability, Kelani Valley Plantations.

The most recent episode of our CRIB podcast featured Ushan and Lihini, youth co-founders of Gavesha Lab, who share their journeys in science and why they embarked on a mission to reducing barriers for children to an education in technology across Sri Lanka.
