The Centre to Host Action Lab Session about Child Labour in Upstream Supply Chains at this Year’s Global Child Forum

Global Child Forum, on behalf of Their Majesties the King and Queen of Sweden, is hosting its prestigious, annual invite-only event at Stockholm Royal Palace on October 23, 2024. This gathering will bring together top multinationals to explore innovative ways to enhance the wellbeing of children worldwide.

The Centre is partnering with Global Child Forum to develop the event content and facilitate discussions during the Action Labs and is also supporting Global Child Forum to develop a Call to Action that companies can sign up for on the day of the Forum. This Call to Action urges companies to take concrete steps to listen to and involve young voices in their decision-making processes.

This year’s event will explore how integrating a child rights perspective into your business can drive value, especially in the realm of procurement practices and social impact in the supply chain. The discussion will focus on how multinational companies can practically implement measures to positively influence children’s lives through responsible supply chain management and due diligence.

During the Forum, The Centre will be presenting during Action Lab 3: “Achieving Positive Change for Children’s Lives in Supply Chains: From Compliance to Impact”. The aim of the session will be to identify and discuss effective strategies for creating a positive impact on children’s lives, especially in scenarios where the purchasing company has low leverage or is far removed from the issue. Attendees will also gain a better understanding of the requirements for establishing lasting positive change that goes beyond compliance and contributes to the betterment of children’s lives within the supply chain.
