The Mother and Child-Friendly Seal for Responsible Business Initiative Highlighted in Sri Lanka’s Leading Business Magazine


LMD Sri Lanka’s leading business magazine, has spotlighted the “Co-Creating a Family-Friendly Tea Industry Conference” and the Mother and Child-Friendly Seal for Responsible Business in its December 2023 issue. The two-page spread highlights the importance of this conference in engaging key tea industry stakeholders in important discussions that can spark positive long-term change for children, families and the industry at large. 

 

The article also emphasises a milestone moment during the conference when the first five members of the Mother and Child-Friendly Seal for Responsible Business were awarded the Seal. The five members are Bogawantalawa Tea Estates, Talawakelle Tea Estates, Horana Plantations, Kelani Valley Plantations and English Tea Shop Organic. These companies have demonstrated progress towards the action plan they pledged to implement this year as part of this initiative, which centre around the wellbeing of families in Sri Lanka’s tea growing communities. These five Seal members have focused their efforts on child protection, climate change education, child benefit programmes, and gender equity.
