The COVID-19 pandemic has severely impacted the Mexican economy, resulting in a significant increase in the number of children engaging in child labour. According to data from the USDOL-funded National Child Labour Survey (ENTI 2019), 3.1 million children between the ages of 5 and 17 engaged in child labour, but this number is likely much higher now in the post-pandemic era.
We invite you to attend this webinar introducing "El Centro", a new child rights and business centre in Mexico that will deliver child rights and business services for companies. El Centro is modelled on The Centre for Child Rights and Business (The Centre). The Centre is providing support to establish El Centro and its services for companies in Mexico. In addition to introducing El Centro, our webinar will also spotlight the practical ways companies can meaningfully eliminate child labour risks, with expert insights from El Centro, The Centre and leading business representatives.
