Webinar: The Future of Child Labour Elimination in Supply Chains, July 15

We are pleased to invite you to the webinar The Future of Child Labour Elimination in Global Supply Chains, organised by Save the Children and The Centre for Child Rights & Business, which will take place on July 15, 2021 at 2:00 pm CET | 8:00 am EDT.
 
The number of children in child labour has reached 160 million worldwide – the first increase in two decades - with millions more at risk due to the impacts of COVID-19. Child labour in supply chains is a complex phenomenon linked to various systemic challenges including poverty, a lack of access to education, inadequate social protection and support for families, and a lack of access to decent work for parents.
 
This webinar will explore how companies, civil society and governmental actors can work together to realise responsible value chains and eliminate child labour. Save the Children and The Centre for Child Rights & Business, together with three of their key corporate partners, will share how they address child labour and deliver impact at scale, illustrated by practical examples from the cocoa and the textile sectors.  
 
The event will feature:

• Presentations highlighting approaches to address current and future child labour challenges, covering different sectors and regions.

• Case studies from corporates highlighting practical approaches to address child labour and related child rights issues.

• Perspectives from the European Commission on HRDD and child labour in the context of upcoming legislation in Germany and at the EU

• A panel discussion exploring how to move from challenges to opportunities, exploring scalable actions to protect and advance children’s rights to eliminate child labour.
