Snapshot of The Hub's Outcomes in 2023

The Hub for Child Labour Prevention and Remediation – known simply as “The Hub” locally – was founded in 2022 by The Centre for Child Rights and Business, with support from the FCA and Save the Children Germany. The Hub, which operates in one of the DRC’s key mining hubs, Kolwezi, aims to drive systemic change to address child labour on and around artisanal and small-scale mining (ASM) sites over the long-term.

In 2023, The Hub supported 20 children through our child labour remediation programme, safeguarding them from dangerous work and connecting them to education and skill-building opportunities for the possibility of a brighter future. In 2024, The Hub is poised for significant expansion, which will see more children in child labour integrated into our remediation programme, an expansion of our case manager network and expanding our collaboration with local stakeholders, among other key focuses.

Below is a snapshot of our key outcomes in 2023.
