In recognition of Children’s Day on November 20, the Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI) and The Centre for Child Rights and Business (The Centre) are pleased to invite ETI members to a one-hour webinar focused on addressing key child rights risks in the lower tiers of supply chains. We will discuss approaches to tackling these challenges while creating systems that safeguard children and benefit communities and supply chain partners over the long term.
Issues such as child labour, hazardous work for young workers, and children on production sites due to inadequate childcare not only harm children – they also expose brands, retailers, and suppliers to compliance risks and human rights due diligence violations. As human rights due diligence regulations such as EU CSDDD tighten, addressing these challenges is no longer optional. However, short-term solutions are not enough to ensure meaningful, sustainable change During the webinar, you will hear directly from The Centre, which supports hundreds of brands and retailers globally to establish robust and effective processes for child labour prevention and remediation.
The panel will discuss how to overcome child labour prevention and remediation (CLPR) challenges and build long-term systems that generate positive impact for both businesses and children. You’ll learn from practical case studies that highlight how safeguarding children also protects your business and aligns with HRDD regulations. Join us for this important and insightful discussion, and leave equipped with the knowledge and inspiration to drive meaningful change.
This webinar will address key topics, including:
Child rights in supply chains: We’ll examine the pressing issues, from hazardous work conditions to family-work life imbalances that impact children's rights across supply chains, particularly in lower tiers.
Barriers to Human Rights Due Diligence (HRDD): We’ll discuss common hurdles companies face when addressing child rights challenges in supply chains, with insights from brands and suppliers on navigating visibility and HRDD compliance obstacles.
Effective initiatives and approaches: Hear about on-the-ground initiatives making a real difference, and discover proven strategies to support children's rights at the workplace. Case studies from The Centre will highlight examples of meaningful human rights due diligence that creates long-term impact for workers and families.
