Child Labour Risk and Tool Sharing at the OECD Due Diligence in the Garment and Footwear Sector Forum

The Centre's CEO, Ines Kaempfer, and Senior VP, Mark Robertson, will be participating in the OECD Forum on Due Diligence in the Garment and Footwear Sector in Paris. The event is scheduled for February 22 at 18:30 CET. During the forum, Ines will speak in a roundtable discussing sectoral risks, particularly child labour in the circular garment and textile value chain. Learn how brands can effectively engage with their lower tiers in the informal sector to create positive impacts for children and their families. You can also attend the forum in person or register online using this link.

We will also be scheduling a breakfast meeting with brands in Paris to share updates on our new Child Rights Action Hubs and how they are becoming a strong tool to address child labour in lower supply chain tiers of apparel factories in countries like Bangladesh and Malaysia. Please contact us if you would like to attend this meeting.

In tandem with our physical presence, The Centre will also be featured in an online side event: Remediating Child Labour Risks and Impacts Beyond Tier One in the Garment Sector. This session, scheduled for February 19 at 15:15 CET on Zoom, will bring together experts from The Centre, the International Labour Organization and GoodWeave International. Riri S. O. Malikah, our Director of Services and Products (Asia), will share insights into our work, which predominantly focuses on the lower tiers of the supply chain, where most incidents of child labour occur.

Register for the Zoom session here.
