The Centre for Child Rights and Business, in collaboration with the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), is pleased to invite participants to a special side event during DRC Mining Week 2026 on June 17 from 15:00-17:00: “Towards a People-Centred ASM Sector: Practical Approaches to Promoting Child Rights along Cobalt and Copper Supply Chains.”
Bringing together representatives from business, government, development agencies and civil society, this event will explore practical approaches to promoting child rights and addressing child labour risks in cobalt and copper supply chains, with a particular focus on artisanal and small-scale mining (ASM) communities.
The programme will feature a high-level panel discussion on responsible sourcing, human rights due diligence (HRDD) and collaborative approaches to prevention and remediation, followed by an informal afternoon tea gathering designed to foster discussion, knowledge sharing and partnership-building.
Whether you are a company with links to mining, a downstream buyer, an ESG professional, policymaker, donor or civil society representative, this event offers an opportunity to engage with stakeholders working to strengthen responsible sourcing practices and improve outcomes for children and communities in mining regions in the DRC.
To attend, please register using the link below. Seats are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, so we encourage you to register early to avoid disappointment.
