July 30, 2024 marked World Day Against Trafficking in Persons. Globally, one in three victims of human trafficking is a child. They miss out on their childhoods, are subjected to severe physical and emotional abuse, and are robbed of their basic rights to education, protection and survival.
This year, the Forum on Child Protection in the Travel and Tourism Sector in Sri Lanka launched a national campaign, together with various partners, to call on the public to act now and end child trafficking.
As members of the Forum, The Centre supported the Forum in designing these posters and is backing this campaign to help spread awareness. The posters are available to download for free in three languages: English, Tamil, and Sinhala.
We especially encourage businesses, hotel and accommodation providers, schools and childcare services to download and display these posters in a visible location. Another way to get involved is to share these posters on your social media account and use the following hashtag: #EndChildTrafficking.
