'Children's Voices: Four Countries, Four Stories' - A Film in Collaboration with Global Child Forum

In 2018, The Centre (formerly CCR CSR) and Global Child Forum proudly teamed up to bring you this inspiring film about business' positive impact on the lives of children, told from the children's own perspective. We went to Vietnam, China, Bangladesh and Myanmar where we interviewed and filmed four children (or parents of children) whose lives were touched for the better when business decided to support their needs.

BANGLADESH

In Bangladesh, Nasima Begum was able to go back to work and spend time with her child after finding a job in a factory that has a day-care service.

These are just four stories out of thousands. Good things happen when businesses support the needs of children, young workers and working parents.

CHINA

In China, Rongxuan Wu got to spend the whole summer with his parents in Dongguan, China, a rare opportunity for Rongxuan who is being raised by his grandparents in faraway Hubei Province while his parents work. This opportunity came about because the factory where his parents work decided to open a Child Friendly Space.

MYANMAR

In Myanmar, 15-year-old Warwar Nwe got to resume the education she so sorely had to give up after being discovered by brand auditors in a textile factory where she worked long hours at the age of 14. The brand that used the supplier supported a remediation programme that allowed her to attend vocational school and also receive a monthly living stipend.

VIETNAM

In Vietnam, Tran Thanh Nam was given a second chance at education after dropping out from school when his factory decided to take part in a youth development programme that creates opportunities for out-of-school youth.
