The Centre is developing a new child labour report for clients that use its child labour remediation services. The aim of the report is to give companies concrete feedback on how well they handle child labour remediation cases from The Centre’s perspective. The succinct report will enable companies to identify any weaknesses and gaps that can be strengthened to ensure a more effective, child-centric approach to child labour remediation processes.
Any company who has used The Centre’s child labour remediation services for one case or more are eligible to receive a report, which will be developed at the end of each year following a data collection process in December. Based on the data and information received, the reports will provide feedback on key areas including child labour policy and procedure, case detection and reporting, rapid assessment report, accountability, linking to sourcing decisions and rating structure.
The reports will be delivered to clients by February the following year, and will include key findings and an executive summary. Clients can use the findings in their own sustainability reporting, and can decide whether or not to make the reports publicly available, via the The Centre’s website or via other communication channels.
The reports will support companies to communicate their commitment to child labour remediation activities, helping to fulfil requirements of legislations covering human rights due diligence, child labour and forced labour.
