ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
We are looking for an external consultant/project manager based in PNG, who can lead our ongoing projects in the region.
This is a full-time role for a period of 2-3 months (with the possibility of contract extension). The preferred location for the candidate is in PNG and they should be willing to relocate for the duration of the project.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
The position encompasses a range of responsibilities, including but not limited to:
Support the implementation of child rights impact assessments in supply chains including onsite visits to collect data, report writing etc.
Support the implementation of child labour remediation program activities, such as onsite assessment, development and implementation of remediation programme including monitoring visits.
Support training delivery on child labour prevention and remediation for brands and supply chain factories/farms.
Support implementation of other child rights and business projects as required.
Managing and supporting client relations during service and project implementation.
Monitoring project budgets and expenditures.
Performing other duties as requested.
The Centre will provide tools and methodologies including trainings to the consultant/s on the above-mentioned services. Consultants will initially be employed on a per-project basis.
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
At least 5 to 7 years of relevant work experience, preferably with at least 3 years’ experience in a corporate social compliance, sustainability, human rights/child rights and business or a relevant field;
Prior knowledge and experience gain from working with vulnerable groups such as migrant children and families as well as private sector companies and actors;
Master’s degree in social sciences (or equivalent professional experience);
Experience in project management is required;
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must;
Superior command of both verbal and written English (mother tongue level); working knowledge in Tok Pisin (required);
Good understanding of current human rights / child rights issues and supply chain in PNG;
Ability to work independently and with a high level of integrity and professionalism, with the ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential information;
Strong organisational, time management and multitasking skills;
Solid problem-solving and team management abilities are essential;
Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment;
Good computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, are required.
