We are currently seeking a talented and professional Project Manager to join our team and manage support the expansion and growth of The Centre towards global and local brands in Africa by maintaining a local presence, assuring project implementation, delivering & organising trainings, conducting/supporting research work and performing networking with key stakeholders of The Centre.
The position is a full-time engagement and should preferably be based in a key Africa hub (e.g. Nairobi, Abidjan, Kinshasa etc.).
The position includes, but is not limited to, the following specific tasks:
Manage ongoing projects and work with the implementing partners in Africa, Turkey, Americas etc to guarantee the smooth implementation of the projects, including:
Provide support for business development, e.g. exploring cooperation opportunities with local social organisations and related service providers, supporting proposal development, etc.
Regularly update The Centre’s country factsheet, and research on child rights related legal provisions
Local logistic support for events and visits
Carry out rapid assessment of child labor cases as per The Centre methodology
Education: University degree or higher in social science, business development or business management.
A minimum 3 years proven experience in a similar role.
Experience in managing multiple teams in different service regions
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, strong analytical skills
Excellent English and French equal to mother tongue
Highly trustworthy and capable of handling highly sensitive and confidential information.
Strong organisational, time management and multitasking skills
Solid problem-solving and team management abilities
Good computer skills, Microsoft office etc.

MAIN WORKING TASKS
The Centre for Child Rights and Business (The Centre) is the frontrunner in the field of child rights and business. We operate as a social enterprise working directly with companies and business to build sustainable business models that support and promote children’s rights and improve the lives of children. Our clients are global brands with business and supply chains in Asia, Europe and Africa. The Centre is a fast paced, high-energy workplace with dedicated and passionate staff members located in major global sourcing hubs. The position provides direct contact with major clients and opportunities to learn and grow within the organisation.
This position is to support the business development team with expansion and growth of the Centre and its services in Asia, Europe and Africa.
Research potential new clients/prospects to enlarge our customer base
Research funding opportunities from institutional donors and multilateral organisations
Work with The Centre’s Senior VP of Business Development to develop business proposals, concept notes and outlines for funding, obtain qualified meetings and opportunities for presentations
Business development meetings (preparation, setting-up, lead and follow-up)
Support and stimulate local networking building in cooperation with VP of Business Development
Manage a designated set of The Centre’s key clients
Organise and follow-up on open proposals, bids, chase clients for replies and contracts signature
1. Minimum Bachelor University degree or above in relevant subject (e.g. international relations, economics, sociology, social work, public administration etc.)
2. Minimum 10 years relevant working experience
3. Excellent English equal to mother tongue; Cantonese, Mandarin and French are an asset
4. Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
5. Highly trustworthy and capable of handling highly sensitive and confidential information
6. Present oneself as professional, innovative, creative, and a self-starter
7. Excellent writing skills, including proper spelling, grammar, and formatting of proposals, presentations and reports
8. Strong organisational, time management and multitasking skills
9. Excellent skills in marketing and networking
10. Good computer skills, Microsoft office etc.
11. Ability to work in teams and under heavy workload
12. Passion for finding innovative ways to promote child rights in business operations
