ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

We are hiring an experienced Senior Project Manager to cover China to help us keep growing. This role is a full-time post and will be preferably based in Shanghai and this position includes extensive travelling to factory locations within Mainland China.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES 

The position includes but is not limited to the following specific tasks:

1. Manage project implementation and coordinate project including capacity building, trainings, monitoring, evaluation etc.  

2. Manage and maintain the daily operation of Project Officers and Interns

3. Facilitate training activities Youth Development, Parenting Training, Maternity Protection, CL prevention & remediation, HR, Productivity, etc. 

4. Work on Policy and desk research

5. Make plans in collaboration with the Business Development Manager and CEO of The Centre

6. Initiate and carry out documentation and evaluations of projects and processes in co-operation with Program Manager and Program Director of The Centre with the overall aim of developing lessons-learnt within the organization and sharing experiences with partners and brands.

7. Develop and sustain relations with businesses and enterprises

8. Support business development, e.g. exploring cooperation opportunities with local social organizations and related service providers, supporting proposal development incl. towards brands and supply chains, etc.

9. Participate in identifying and connecting with partners and relevant stakeholders.

10. Keep in close contact with brands and their supplying factories, and certified service providers and trainers 

11. Participate and represent The Centre in events, conferences, meetings 

12. Regular calls with The Centre’s colleagues in other offices, regular check-ins with the Directors & CEO

13. Other duties as requested.

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

1. Minimum University degree or above in relevant subject (e.g. social science, sociology, public administration etc )

2. A minimum 7 years of proven experience in a similar role with international exposure is a MUST.

3. Excellent Mandarin and English equal to mother tongue is a MUST

4. Experience with project management incl. budget preparation, monitoring and evaluation

5. Experience working in factory environment

6. Suggest adding one point: experience delivering and facilitating trainings, workshop and activities

7. Experience with China’s non-profit sector and / or international actors is an asset

8. Good understanding of current child rights issues, CSR and supply chain in China

9. Ability to work independently and with a high level of integrity and professionalism

10. Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills; 

11. Highly trustworthy and capable of handling highly sensitive and confidential information; 

12. Present oneself as professional, innovative, creative, and a self-starter;

13. Excellent writing skills, including proper spelling, grammar, and formatting of proposals, presentations and reports. 

14. Strong organizational, time management and multitasking skills

15. Good computer skills, Microsoft office etc. 

16. Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment

17. Passion for finding innovative ways to promote child rights in business operations

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This is a newly created role to support, coordinate and implement project activities on the ground, including communication with all project partners and stakeholders, for a USDOL grant-funded project in Malaysia to combat child labour and forced labour in the apparel and palm oil industries.

The position is a full-time engagement and must be based in Greater Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The selected candidate will support, coordinate, and implement activities related to MY Voice project. MY Voice project is a USDOL-funded multiyear project to combat child labour and forced labour in the production of Malaysian palm oil and garments. 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

The position includes but is not limited to the following specific tasks:

• Manage, cooperate, and execute tasks related to this project to ensure smooth and timelyimplementation, including:

• Prepare, update, and follow workplans

• Liaise with partners and stakeholders

• Submit project deliverables and reports in a timely manner

• Contribute to the creation and sharing of knowledge within the project and The Centre

• Escalate challenges to the supervisor in a timely manner and propose solutions andalternative strategies to achieve results

• Conduct child labor and forced labor risk assessment in different supply chain tiers

• Support the development and pilot of remediation model(s) and tools to address child labor and forced labor in the apparel and palm oil industry.

• Prepare, coordinate, and conduct trainings and awareness raising campaigns with different stakeholdersboth in person and online.

• Conduct desk research as well as monitoring and evaluation reports by summarizing and documentingresults, lessons learned and good practices from the implementation of the project.

• Establish and maintain network with project partners and local stakeholders, including local governmental agencies, sectoral associations, international and national NGOs, government entities, educationalinstitutions and commercial service providers and trainers etc.

• Other tasks as assigned by The Centre such as data analysis, reporting, participating, and representing TheCentre in events, conferences, meetings as decided in cooperation with the Director of Services &Products, Asia.

• Regular calls with The Centre’s colleagues in other offices, partners of MY Voice project, and regular check-in with the Director of Services & Products, Asia.

• Require to travel from time to time (mostly domestic).

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in the field of human rights due diligence, child rights (in particularchild labor), social compliance, with audits/assessments experience and certification as auditor (e.g.FLA/SAI etc. certified auditor) a plus

• Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree reflecting expertise in areas relevant to this project, such as socialsciences, law, public policy, sociology.

• Strong skills and experience in project management (incl. meeting deadlines, achieving targets, budget setting and monitoring, etc).

• Strong skills in research tools development, report writing, and policy and guidelines development.

• Experiences relating to Malaysia’s apparel/palm oil industry strongly preferred.

• Strong and proven skills as a trainer and facilitator.

• Good command of both verbal and written English and Bahasa Malaysia, knowledge in otherSoutheast Asian languages a plus.

• Self-motivated, independents, pro-active, and has team-work spirit.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

The Senior Technical Advisor Training and Learning will be responsible for the key trainings that The Centre offers in Sri Lanka as well as work with the Sri Lanka Country Director in carrying out the assessments and research that the Centre for Child Rights and Business Lanka undertakes, consistent with The Centre’s mandate, global strategy & theory of change. 

This role is part-time and will be based in Colombo.

CORE RESPONSIILITIES

The position includes, but is not limited to, the following specific tasks:  

1. Carry out the child rights related trainings (child rights, positive parenting, gender etc) for Seal Members

2. Work with the Country Director and Seal Initiative Manager in developing the child centric impact assessment for the Seal Initiative and a learning agenda for The Centre, to help inform the annual review of the Seal framework

3. Work with the Country Director in designing research that The Centre undertakes for development agencies or companies and training the enumerators

4. Work with the Country Director in setting up a roster for youth and engaging youth in initiatives that enable them to develop their skills and experience

5. Work with the Country Director in establishing accountability mechanisms to ensure that Seal Initiative stakeholders are able to share feedback and receive information and responses in a timely manner. 

6. Work with the Country Director in developing innovative ideas that focus on human rights in business

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Master’s degree in social sciences;

2. Ten years of training experience, in gender and child rights related areas, working with development agencies, companies, government and communities; 

3. Experience with project management;

4. Significant experience and strong understanding of the estate sector in Sri Lanka;

5. Good understanding of current child rights issues, CSR and supply chain in Sri Lanka;

6. Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment;

7. An excellent communicator with a strong eye for detail;

8. Ability to work independently and with a high level of integrity and professionalism;

9. Fluency in English equal to mother tongue;

10. Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills; 

11. Highly trustworthy and capable of handling highly sensitive and confidential information;

This role is a full-time post and will be based in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES 

The position includes but is not limited to the following specific tasks:

• Plan and execute research projects and child rights/human rights impact assessments, prepare reports of findings through graphic data illustration and translating complex findings into easy to understand and clear recommendations.

• Present thoroughly researched information for background research; implementation of the projects; 

• Manage research projects including timeline, tools, internal and external communication.

• Undertake statistical analysis on primary data collected, where applicable

• Compile the researched material in a systematic way and prepare background briefs/briefing notes as and when required.

• Provide guidance to consultants/executing agencies on routine implementation of the projects and monitor quality of work of consultants.

• Manage client expectations and carry out effective communications with clients. 

• Other duties as requested.

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

• At least 5 to 7 years of relevant work experience, preferably with at least three years’ experience in a corporate social compliance, sustainability, human rights/child rights and business or a relevant field.

• Prior knowledge and experience in research and research methodology

• Master’s degree in social sciences.

• Work experience in a similar role in the not-for-profit sector preferred;

• Superior command of both verbal and written English (mother tongue level); knowledge in French language would be a plus;

• Great multitasker and capable of simultaneously managing multiple projects with different deadlines;

• Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment;

• An excellent communicator with a strong eye for detail;

• Highly developed qualitative and quantitative research skills (including basic statistics);

• Experience with one or several statistical software platforms (e.g. SPSS, Stata or similar)

• Strong analytical skills, and ability to rapidly analyse and integrate diverse information from varied sources;

• Computer literate; must be able to use the Internet and other research tools effectively.

• Identifies priority activities and assignments;
